Bollywood : 56th Filmfare Awards - Is Filmfare really matters or Is it fake...

Recently, Filmfare announced it's 56th  awards; one time known as the most honorable award for the Indian Film Industry.
The results were surprised every one. Every single person, who has having, a little bit sense of cinema.
Even the layman, who atleast visited to watch  cinema in theater or have watched atleast a single movie in his whole life span. That poor man, even can question and think about the credibility of, so called prestigious award in Indian Film Industry (known as Bollywood), FilmFare Awards.

Let's have a look into what the Filmfare award is and when and how it got introduced.
The Filmfare Awards are presented annually by The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film industry of India. The Filmfare ceremony is one of the oldest and most prominent film events given for Hindi films in India. The awards were first introduced in 1954, the same year as the National Film Awards. They were initially referred to as the Clare Awards after the editor of The Times of India, Clare A Mandy. A dual voting system was developed in 1956. Under this system, "in contrast to the National Film Awards, which are decided by a panel appointed by Indian Government, the Filmfare Awards are voted for by both the public and a committee of experts." The Filmfare Awards have been often referred to as Hindi film industry's equivalent of the Oscars.

Filmfare awards were first introduced in 1954. The Clares was the original name of the award ceremony, named after The Times of India critic Clare A Mandy. Readers of Filmfare were polled to decide the winners, and over 20,000 readers spread throughout India participated in the polls; trophies were given to winners of the popular vote. In the first awards function, held on 21 March 1954 at the Metro Theatre of Mumbai, only five awards were presented: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Music Director.  ["Do Bigha Zameen"]  was the first movie to win the award for Best Film. The first winners for other four categories were: Bimal Roy for his direction of  ["Do Bigha Zameen"], Dilip Kumar for his performance in ["Daag"], Meena Kumari for her performance in ["Baiju Bawra"], and Naushad for his music in ["Baiju Bawra"].

To celebrate the 25th year of the awards the statues were made in silver and to celebrate the 50th year the statues were made in gold.

Lets talk about Filmfare awards for the year 2010.
Last year, the film was mostly appreciated and top grosser was Salman Khan starrer "Dabaang". This movie was not so great movie in itself. But people liked the movie and masses really like their hero "Chulbul [Robinhood] Pandey".
Salman Khan, never make his mark as an Actor. But his "Chichori" activities always liked by masses. He has always been appreciated, by some framed, cinema lover category.

This year, his movie "Dabaang" made record box office collection. And he was able to successfully, left some acting pinch too.

Another film, which was really appreciated was "Peeli Live". I personally, like the movie; the movie tried to point out, the reality in society.
But the FilmFare seems to be,  so far far these commercial successful and appreciated by audience, movies.

One more movie, I'd like to mention is  Ishqiya. No one again mention this movie during award ceremony.
Surprisingly, Filmfare was again grabbed by Sharukh Khan (on which basis) only God, Shahrukh , Filmfare award committee and Karan Johar can guess about it.

The film  [My Name is Khan] (MNIK) was all time bakwass movie. It was no so commerical success (as it was expected). The only success and appreciation, the film makers and Shahrukh khan was able to manage was some sterotype community ( I guess, you get it).
It was a great surprise that Sharukh Khan win FilmFare award this time.
No body believe, atleast me , when Aamir Khan once mentioned that he does not believe in the credibility of awards.
I've been following this award for so many years now , but this year it seems quite obvious surprise for me. it seems like pre-decided award.

If it is so, why these award committee waits for one full year; nominates so many films; organizes the grand show and distributes the award. waste the like this, and making fool around the people.
What I would suggest them,  they should make the trophies in advanced for 10 years and hand over to Shahrukh Khan , Karan Johar and Kajol  and save money and time.
And atleast, save the honor and reputation of the word  [ AWARD ]  is having.

I dont know, if people would get agree with me. This alteast is my opinion and opinon in general public.
Now,  look at the statistics of the FilmFare award received by Shahrukh Khan.

Most acting awards - male (Best Actor + Best Supporting Actor)

Dilip Kumar (8+0) = 8
Shahrukh Khan (8+0) = 8
Amitabh Bachchan (5+3) = 8

Look at the above statistics, counting this year award, Shahrukh Khan get equivalent to Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan.
Now the honest questions are ( considering the time spend in the industry and talent)
1. Does he really deserve this? Does he more talented then these two legends? Does, he's a greater actor than Amitabh Bachchan ( as out of 8 Amitji won 3 as supporting role and only 5 as Best Actor. Amitji is serving the Indian Film Industry, more than 40 yrs now.)

Funny isn't it. I would like to request the organisers please please save the prestige and honor of awards.
Once I remember I was hearing the speech of Mr. Badbolee Sharukh khan, in an award reception speech.
In which he was saying, "If he would not have won the award, he might have purchased it..."
Is this the same , is he doing?

I dont belongs to " I Hate Shahrukh Khan" fan club. But this was shocking to me atleast, seeing him handling the award, which he doesn't deserve, at all.

Just before few weeks to the FilmFare there was the Apsara Awards, when MINK and Shahrukh Khan does not get the Best Film and Best Actor award. But, Shahrukh got the Viewer's Choice award. (WTF)

The question is not that some one is getting the award or not. The question here is of genuinity and the right thing to right deserving person.

As Filmfare claims that this awards has been decided by the peoples by their vote to chose the winner ( see my third para of the blog.)
This is wrong statement. At least the people cannot make this blunder. At least the majority of the people.

Please respect to people's opinion Filmfare, make the things transparent and genuine.
People come and go and this is true and applicable to Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar too. Generations come and go. But the credibility will always remain with the name of the Brand. So respect it and try to maintain it through out the life, FILMFARE.

Since now, India's Entertainment Industry has been accepted world wide as a Leading Film producing Industry in the world. We make greatest movies in the world. We're having all the ingredients (masala) in our movies (which obviously, missing in other country's movies) . All the ingredient I mean , Music, Dance , Masti , Romance, Emotions, Fictions, larger than Life Demonstration , every thing in it. Every thing means every thing.

India is emerging and ready be become a second largest economy of the world, in forth coming years.
[ refer to my earlier blogs ; http://journeyallover.blogspot.com/2011/01/vision-world-by-2050third-world-turning.html and http://journeyallover.blogspot.com/2011/01/vision-india-by-2025.html ]

Our movies and entertainment Industry is already made a mark in the global market.
We're ready to acquire the largest film studio of Hollywood (MGM studios)  ( I read that Mr. Anil Ambani's company is going to bid for the MGM studios of Hollywood and they already signed Spielberg for their forthcoming films.)

Then why cant, we make award or recognition system more credible and transparent so that not only our people (common man like me), our artistes ( like Mr. Perfection Aamir Khan) and whole world can really credit on us.

When our own people (themselves) are  not believing-in , in our system. It means there is something definitely wrong with-in the system.

The Body's like FilmFare and Apsara should be aware of this fact, if they have to get the global recognition , credibility and be escaped by making their own fun. They have to clean, transparent and honest in, what ever they are doing.

Now (as a film production and audiences), we are not only limited to South Asia or middle east or Africa. we're globally known industry. Whole world monitoring us all the time, Biggest name of Hollywood, biggest name of Latin America's entertainment  Industry , Big Brand names of United Kingdom, Europe are desperate to work and get associated with the name Bollywood.

Now there is and there should be no scope of the Lobby-ism and monopoly of camps and buying the awards gang. Our Industry is not depend upon some sucking faces and pimps, pick-up any TV programs (hosted by Sharukh Khan, Karan Johar) or Movies ( KJohar framed) you'll get the smell of  lobby-ism.

Earlier FilmFare was the one of the commercial award and another was the National Award. Now, the award distributing business is mushrooming like any thing , now Apsara is there, Star Awards, Zee cinema awards and the list is endless, I don't remember the names even.
True, you'll get the sponsors, you'll get the money and definitely you'll get the people who can give you money and buy your awards.

But what about the true credibility and international reputation. see the example of Oscars and Golden Globes.
They have the international recognition; why because they deserve it and transparent enough to proof them selves.
I remember right from the earlier days; People, wake-up whole night to watch the Oscars.

[And remembering many of them discussing them on very next day in offices or gathering places. And I never able to ignore the sentences of their discussion like " Dekha mujhe lagta tha .. iss movie ya actor wo award mileega.." ]

But how many people ready to spend the night to see FilmFare now , when you already know who is going to be Best Director, Best Movie, Best actor and Best Actress. how many authentic Directors and Actors are attending the ceremony. I guess,  counted ones. Who knows they're going to handle the trophy .

FlimFare, mind your ways, by now. Be ready for international recognition and challenge or be ready to lose your lustrous as you have already done, by this time.

This is just my opinion.
