When ever you try to open any exe , you may see the Application not found error message. This happens if the default browser is not set, or the http protocol association is incorrect. The same error may occur when double-clicking an Internet Shortcut (.URL) file in the system.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]

1. Type this up, click ‘File’> ‘Save as’ and then save it as ‘registry.reg’ to your Windows Desktop.
2. Close out of Notepad, then double-click the registry file you saved to your desktop. When it asks if you want to import the registry key to your system, click ‘yes’.
